It doesn't take long to find what he's looking for. Three days later, exactly, he sees it. The police box is obvious, once you know it's there.
The Doctor steps out. And the Master steps into his line of sight, his grin still more lunatic than anything, and calls out. "Doctor." His voice very nearly trembles on the name.
The Doctor glances towards him, and the drums howl in defeat. |

[OOC: Letter written at an unknown time period, but it's -- at the end of a fairly long decent period. Either really, really early on -- first year abouts -- or really, really late on -- before the three-or-more year slump of things getting continually worse before it finally ended. Struck out is scribbled-out but legible if you really try to make it out, small and struck is scribble out too heavily to be legible.]

It's been a long two months since the last time William was lucid. He can remember it in flashes -- the screaming, the sedatives, days on end without taking a step under his own power. It's never entirely clear, when he comes back from the haze, just what he's been up to the rest of the time.
But the fact that he's still strapped down gives him a decent idea of what last night was like.
He's not sure how long he's been awake (probably not long, they don't leave him alone long when he's like this) but he's on the verge of falling asleep again. His legs have fallen asleep and his mouth is so very dry (he can vaguely remember trying to bite the last nurse who tried to give him water) and the discomfort is just barely helping him keep himself awake. These times of awareness rarely last through sleep, and he doesn't want to go back to... that just yet, even if he won't care when he's there.
It's not working very well. |
